Proud parents Beyonce and Jay-Z posted the first photos of their month-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter. The couple shared multiple photos of the newborn on her own tumblr page called HelloBlueIvyCarter.

A handwritten note included in the post reads: "We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives." The note is signed "The Carter Family."

Boasting a full head of dark hair, baby Blue Ivy is photographed sleeping in both her famous parents' arms.

The photos come just a few days after Beyonce made her first post-pregnancy appearance at Jay-Z's Carnegie Hall concert.

Sharing photos of the baby is an unusual move for a high-profile couple like Beyonce and Jay-Z who have probably been offered millions of dollars much like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who were reportedly paid $11 - $15 million for photos of their twins Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt in 2008. This way the Carter's are saying no to hoopla around images of their daughter.
